There are seasons in my faith life when strength feels abundant—when prayer flows easily, Scripture feels alive, and trust comes naturally.
This season finds me asking God daily for His strength and fortitude to carry me through the day. There are evenings when I look back and can honestly say, I don’t know how I made it through today. And yet, when I slow down long enough, I realize that I do know. It was God who carried me—quietly, faithfully, moment by moment.
These moments remind me that strength in the Christian life is not something I manufacture. It is something God gently cultivates as I remain close to Him. Over time, I’ve noticed how He encourages me to remain strong—not through pressure or performance, but through presence, remembrance, and community.
1. Strength Grows in Prayer and the Word
Everything starts with communing with God and the meditation of His Word. When I make space to spend time with Him—unhurried, honest, and attentive—my faith is strengthened.
Prayer recenters my heart, and Scripture reminds me of what is true when my emotions feel uncertain. God uses His Word and His Holy Spirit to guide, comfort, and anchor my soul. In His presence, I’m reminded that I am not walking alone.
2. Strength Is Reinforced Through Fellowship
Faith was never meant to be lived in isolation. God strengthens me through fellowship with other believers—through shared stories, encouragement, and sometimes simply being present with one another. God has used the men in our Saturday morning group as a source of strength. No matter how I feel when I arrive, I always seem to leave our meetings strengthened, encouraged, and uplifted. Community becomes a gift, reminding me that God often meets me through His people.
3. Strength Is Renewed by Remembering Past Deliverances
One of the most powerful ways God strengthens my faith is by inviting me to remember. When I look back at the ways He has carried me through difficult seasons, sustained me in suffering, and remained faithful when I struggled to trust Him, my courage is renewed.I have seen God’s faithful hand deliver me through seasons of deep despair and family tragedies, and strengthen me in moments when life felt overwhelming. Remembering these past deliverances reminds me that the same God who was faithful then is faithful now. It gives me confidence to place today—and tomorrow—into His hands.
